Washed Up - Pixar's ShipShape Art Challenge

Final submission and breakdown for Pixar's Shipshape Art Challenge (https://renderman.pixar.com/news/renderman-shipshape-art-challenge). Once a highly respected robo-sailor, his ship has long been non-operational and now resides washed up on the shores of a junked sea. His work steadily declined with the introduction of newer, more capable boat-craft. Despite his sorrowing fate, he continues to captain his ship, just as he is programmed.

Completed in Maya. Palm trees were grown in SpeedTree. Grasses and rocks from Quixel. Bird groom from XGen. Shading was mainly done in Substance Painter. Clouds from Houdini. Rendered with RenderMan. Composited in Fusion.
